Vertical Air Receivers

Vertical Air Receivers

(11)
All of our air receivers are built to ASME Code, Section VIII, Division 1, and are labeled with the U stamp. Each tank is registered with the National Board and has a National Board Number. Midwest tanks are accepted in all 50 states.

When inquiring, please indicate:
  • Volume
  • Diameter
  • Length of shell
  • Sizes of inlet and outlet
  • Working pressure of the vessel
  • Painting requirements
Tanks can be made vertically or horizontally. Capacities can be determined. If an internal lining is desired.

We custom build all our vessels to the working pressure required for the application, and excel in larger volumes and specialized applications.

Hot Water Vert.

Hot Water Storage Tanks

(69)
Midwest Tank has been producing quality hot water storage tanks since 1972. We offer a variety of sizes, linings, heating coils, and working pressures.

The lining recommended is:
  • Concrete lining
  • Epoxy lining w/ 9 to 12 dry mil thickness
TACO heating coils are available in(ASME certified):
  • Single-wall
  • Double-wall
To size the coil, Midwest Tank needs the following information:

Steam or Water in the coil:
    If steam:
What is the design steam pressure?
What is the average tank temperature?
Design draw in gallons per hour?
Is it cement lined (Cement-lined tanks require oversized collars.)

    If ...

Midwest Tank Co. standard tappings for pressure tanks used in hydropneumatic service. The standard interior lining for hydropneumatic tanks is a TNEMEC Series 20-2000 Pota-Pox with a 7 to 11 mil DFT. This is an NSF approved coating and is used throughout the industry for protection in cold water applications. This coating requires an SSPC-SP 10 near-white blast. All tank exteriors shall be primed. Alternate linings are available. All tanks are ASME labeled and are available in 100, 125, and 150 PSI design pressures.

Other sizes are available upon request. The diameter must be in 6-inch increments. The length of the shell may be manufactured to whatever length is necessary to achieve the desired capacity. Number of openings and sizes ...
Air Rec. Trinkle Tank

Sprinkler Tank

Whether it is a gravity tank, suction tank, or pressure vessel, Midwest Tank can build a sprinkler storage tank to meet your job specification. All tanks are built to meet the current edition of ANSI/NFPA 22 specification "Water Tanks for Private Fire Protection." The interior metal preparation will be an SSPC-SP 10 near-white blast. The exterior metal preparation will be an SSPC-SP 6 commercial blast. These tanks are required to be coated inside and out per specification AWWA D102, "Inside Paint System #1."

A pressure tank shall be kept two-thirds full of water, with a maintained air pressure of at least 75 PSI by the gauge. The pressure tanks are ASME labeled and hydrostatically tested at 150 PSI.

Boiler Blowdown Tank

Boiler Blowdown Tanks

(8)
For boiler pressures up to 400 lbs. use 100 lb. ASME tanks.

These boiler blow-off tanks are built and labeled in accordance with the ASME Code and comply in all respects with the requirements set forth in the State of Minnesota Code for pressure vessels.

Minimum shell thickness is 3/8" and a wear plate of thickness equal to that of the shell is installed opposite the inlet opening.

Tanks are furnished with legs, manhole, openings for 1/2" pressure gage, 1/2" gage glass, 3/4" thermometer and other fittings. Tanks are painted one shop coat of prime paint unless specified otherwise.
